Recently,we have lots of good news in our club!
Great news from Division A Contest:
- Han Li: Won first place of Mandarin Table Topic Contest
- Steve Xue: Won first place of English Humorous Speech Contest
- Corey Gordon: Won third place of English Evaluation Contest
Han and Steve will represent Division A to compete with other 5 Divisions at the Shenzhen Conference, which is the biggest Toastmasters event in China!
It's not only a success for them, but also a huge success for our ZGC club!!!
Behind their success, many of our members and officers had also contributed a lot!
Thus,hehe~In order to celebrate this great news,we are going to organise a "Celebration Gathering" to celebrate our success and also to give them our best wishes on Shenzhen Contest!
Time: 30th,Oct(Next Friday)night,start from 7:00pm

Moreover, we will discuss it later on Tuesday meeting if anyone has any better suggestions!
Highlights of the Celebration Gathering:
1. Our humurous winner Steve will bring his wife and we would be able to ask his wife how she successfully let Steve willingly put his feet in her shoes!
2. Our once best debator, Chinese impromptu speech showcase winner Han will be dressed in the newly brought Jack&Jones for he has promised himself he would buy one for him if he wins~haha
3. According to the rating of "大众点评网”and also the feedback of my friend, the food there is good and we could even have a discount! So anyone who is a so-called gourmet must not lose this opportunity.
Last but not least, we, ZGCTM, are a family. So as a family member, there is no reason for you to be absense from our celebration gathering which is of great meaning to our club!

We will invite our sisters and brothers clubs' members to join us as well. Instead of regular meeting, many funny and interesting games will be played and several talented members will “show off” their secret weapon besides public speaking that evening. We will have our classic program table topic speech renewed by our humurous king Caesor and also other exciting games which would make you laugh to tears while getting to know more new friends. Moreover, delicious pizza and various kinds of food are served. Don’t hesitate, join us to witness this memorable moments! Your friends or partners are also warmly welcomed!

Keith E. Ostergard is Distinguished Toastmaster and Immediate Past District Governor of District 85. He is the Candidate for 2009-2011 International Director for Districts Not Assigned to Region. More info about Keith please visit http://www.keithforid.com/.
Eileen Wolfe is Distinguished Toastmaster and Past International Director (from Region 1). She is from Jamaica and will be arriving in Beijing to be a speaker at the District Conference on the 22nd and 23rd.
Keith and Eileen will travel up to Zhongguancun to attend our club’s meeting on May 19. Eileen will also serve a meeting role at the meeting. She is a lovely lady with over 30 years experience as a Toastmaster. It’s a good opportunity that we could benefit from her feedback.

Hightlight on Mar 03, 2009: Education session given by Brian Sonet
Introduction of Brian Sonet:
Brian Sonet has worked in the Silicon Valley high-tech industry for over 15 years in various capacities, mostly related to the fields of software localization and worldwide data integrity. He joined Adobe in Dec 2000 and now serves as Senior Operations Manager in the Globalization team. Along the way in his career, Brian has taken a keen interest and receives a high degree of gratification in mentoring his colleagues through on-the-job training and more formal presentations.
Over the years, Brian has attended several motivational seminars and workshops, including Tony Robbins' success and leadership events such as "Unleash the Power Within!" that are held around the globe. Brian also sponsors health organizations in the U.S. and children in Asia for nearly 20 years. Brian expects to complete his Ph.D. research, specializing in Chinese management practices later this year.
